"You have reached Count Dooku. I regret that I am unavailable to answer your hail. Kindly leave a message, and I shall respond at the earliest opportunity."

[ There's a package left for Dooku some time after his and Adachi's last meeting. It's a thick packet, with double copies of reciepts and contracts and paystubs; one stack being originals, the other copies with Adachi's note scrawled all over them, pointing out the descrepencies between them. ]
[ There's also another sheet of paper, with a note from Adachi. ]
Surprised you let something like this go on for this long. I need glasses again after all this reading.
I can bring this to the police on your behalf if you want. Otherwise it's up to you what to do with the information. Let me know.
[There's a pause before Dooku responds, as he considers his options. Ordinarily such a total lack of results would involve a stern lecture regarding the price of failure. But returning the payment? That's a professional, courteous gesture that the Count honestly had not expected from Felix. Perhaps it was Locus' idea, he thinks.]
An unfortunate result. But I never expected the government's secrets would be easily uncovered.
Thank you for your efforts. Perhaps I will have more work for you in the future. With tasks that are more easily achieved.
[At least he has learned something: that LACKEY is either no longer a factor, or that it is so crucial a factor that the government has erased all traces that might lead to it from the Porter cities.]
[ Well, that's insulting. Felix glares at the message for a minute, disliking his skills being called into question just because there wasn't anything to find, considers arguing, and then doesn't.
[ Kaneki only celebrates New Years, so that's the day he'll be dropping off gifts. For Count Dooku, he will leave incense, home-made mochi (rice cakes), sake and a a beautiful japanese handkive (Tanto) ]
Thank you for everything you have done for me, Count Dooku. I'm not sure if I could have done so much without your words and guidance. I hope you have a happy New Year.
Monday if you want. Gonna have one of the contractors, plumbing guy, checking over the drain pipes for the rainy season 'fore the week's out and then everything'll be done as best it can be. Already stocking the storeroom with dry goods and food that'll keep so I don't gotta go shopping every time I'm out there. Think you'll really like what I did with the living space. It's cozy.
Nah. No bodyguard. Can't fit more'n two on the bike. I'll pick you up and drive you there. It's about half a day's ride. Pack an overnight bag. Bring you back the next day.
Hello, Count Dooku. I've seen the recent post regarding the prison outbreak and your name was mentioned. Do you think we could meet to discuss a couple of things?
[Dooku actually shows up wearing his casual (by his standards) clothes rather than his standard cape or suit, the better to make this discreet. As he takes in the surroundings, he approves of Kaneki's taste in locations. This place is very low-profile.]
[ Kaneki is already inside sipping his coffee peacefully as he flips through the network. When he spots the man, he nods at him, calling him closer with a small friendly smile.
thank you for not bringing your cape along ]
Thank you for coming, Count. It has been quite the busy couple of days, hasn't it?
[Dooku hushes his voice dramatically, more out of habit than anything else. His investigation was no crime and no secret, but he still couldn't rule out the possibility of unfriendly ears.]
My allies and I made inquiries at the Maurtia Falls penitentiary. It's quite clear to me that the escape of those inmates was planned and co-ordinated... almost certainly by the same powers that plunged our cities into darkness.
